I wanted to share a great new tool for graphic designers that I have been using called redmark.
What is redmark?
redmark is a web-based tool that let’s clients review and mark up designs through an online interface. It is a brand new web-based service that is simple and intuitive. It helps designers and their clients collaborate visually on a design, and leave comments and feedback right on their design to indicate changes. The service was recently only open by personal invite, but it has just come out of beta testing and has launched to the public. Because Redmark is web-based, there is no need to download or install any software.

How it works
Step 1. A designer uploads a design to a secure password protected account and designate who can access the account. Once design work is uploaded they e-mail the client a link to see it. (See screen below.)

Step 2. The client clicks on the link to review the design online and leave visual feedback, marking up the page where necessary and making comments. Clients put comments directly on the proof, point and click style. This saves tons of time whether you are working remotely, or just down the hall from someone. No more need to print hard copy designs and pass them back and forth for corrections, or spend time writing elaborate emails with changes. Stay on top of the project status by looking at the dashboard, which shows how much work is left on each project at a glance. Another great feature is that the history of the design revisions are saved. This way the designer and the client can review the progress of the design as it is changing. (See screen below.)

Step 3. Another new feature offered to designers is the ability to have an online portfolio to show-off your designs. When a project is finished on redmark, it gets added to your online portfolio. It’s a cover-flow style viewer that you can embed on your own site, or use as a standalone website that Redmark provides for you at redmark.com/portfolio/your.name. Prospective clients will also be able to search for designers in their area and view the design portfolio’s online. (See screen below.)
