Interested in a quote? Absolutely! Just a few matters of business. Before completing a quote, a creative brief will be needed to define the project scope. I have created a form that asks questions to make creative brief generation easy.

What is a Creative Brief?

A creative brief is a communication tool that explains the details of a project, your goals, specific outcomes, and timelines. Think of it as a blueprint for your project. It helps ensure that everyone involved in a project are on the same page from the start, which also helps the project run smoothly, stay on schedule, and be successful.

A well-written Creative Brief will help you define your project in such a way that everyone working on your project will have a clear understanding of the vision, the strategy and the goals of the project so they can move forward with an effectiveness and flow that produces the best results. Members on your team should be able to refer back to the creative brief to help them answer questions about the right tone to use, design style, and so on.

Tips for Success

When a potential client doesn’t spend time creating a creative brief or answering questions in detail, designers have to inflate their prices due to the ambiguity of a project. A poorly crafted creative brief results in miscommunication and wasted project time. But that can be prevented with these tips for success!

1. Answer  questions with descriptive and conversational language. Be clear and direct, and avoid using obscure business or marketing terms and buzz words.

2. Gather input from ALL stakeholders and those involved. By including everyone who will need to approve the final product, you increase your chances of gaining their approval as you move forward with design.

3. Keep information relevant, and get to the point. Craft a document that will serve as a useful guide for the members on your team and that explains in detail what you are looking for.
